Authorities have identified the woman who was fatally shot alongside her dog by a lone gunman late Sunday in Brooklyn smoke shop as Jennifer Ynoa. According to investigators, Jennifer, 36, lived just blocks from the smoke store where she was gunned down.
Jennifer went to the Salim Smoke Shop with her pit bull on DeKalb Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 9:45 p.m. Sunday. While they were inside the shop, a gunman got out of a vehicle, walked inside, and opened fire – striking Jennifer and her pup, cops said.
Jennifer stumbled just outside the door, where she was discovered next to her dog. She suffered a gunshot wound to her torso and was pronounced dead after being taken to the Brooklyn Hospital Center. Her dog also died of its injuries, cops said.
It was not clear whether Jennifer was the gunman’s target or whether the suspect was aiming for someone else in the shop. It was also not immediately known whether Jennifer knew the shooter.
Police have not made any arrests by Monday morning.
