A 16-year-old Garland, Texas girl has been apprehended after cops said she accidentally shot her 18-year-old friend to death while they were showing off firearms on a Livestream.
The 6-year-old girl, whose identity was not revealed, had been holding two handguns as her friend, Princess Omobogie, 18, used to film her for the Livestream broadcast at an apartment complex in Garland, investigators said on Thursday.
During the live social media broadcast on Tuesday, one of the guns accidentally went off and struck Omobogie, investigators said.
The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where she died two days later.
After Omobogie’s death, her 16-year-old friend was taken into custody and charged with manslaughter. She’s currently being held at the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center.
Authorities have declined to release her name since she is a minor. However, investigators have obtained a copy of the Livestream and will be using it in their ongoing investigation.
