Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie were overjoyed to have gotten matching finger tattoos to symbolize their love. Danny Nostrom, the artist who inked the two lovers, has revealed to Daily Mail on Monday.
According to Nostrom, Petito and Laundrie got the matching tattoo before embarking on their cross-country road trip. While at the artist’s shop, the couple was planning the fateful cross-country road trip and how they were saving for a van to live in during the romantic journey. Nostrom said bubbly Gabby was talking animatedly.
Gabby and Laundrie told the tattoo artist they were huge fans of ‘Forensic Files,’ a documentary TV show that reveals how forensic science is used to solve violent crimes, mysterious accidents. To show the artist exactly what she wanted, Gabby quickly sketched a tiny scorpion and a ghost on a skateboard on Laundrie’s consent form.
The couple got their matching tattoos on October 8 last year, several months before embarking on their epic journey in Gabby’s 2012 white Ford Transit van. The bond between the couple that day in the artist’s shop gave no hint of the heartbreak to follow. Laundrie returned to his parent’s home from the trip in Gabby’s van but without her.
On September 19, Gabby’s body was found in Bridger-Teton National Forest, Wyoming, and her death was declared a homicide. Laundrie, who is still on the run, was named as a person of interest in his girlfriend’s death.
