Anissa Weier, Teen convicted of stabbing her classmate nearly to death in 2014, is said to be released today from a Wisconsin psychiatric hospital, a source tells PEOPLE.
On Friday last week, a judge decided that Weier, now 19, should be set free on Monday as a sane girl after spending almost 4 years in a Mental Health Institute. However, she is to be released on a condition that requires her to live with her father.
Initially, Weier wasn’t supposed to be set free until she turned 37. Consequently, she must submit to GPS monitoring and will be receiving regular psychiatric treatment.
The Department of Corrections will also be monitoring Weier’s internet usage. And she also must not surf the web from outside her father’s house.
In March this year, Weier said she had made significant progress with her treatment and petitioned for a conditional release to re-enter society.
