The United States has suddenly lost six underage female students to a tragic accident in an Oklahoma city on Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The fatal crash occurred around 12:30 pm when the young girls’ vehicle collided with a semi-truck in the rural town of Tishomingo, the largest city in Johnston County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The victims’ identities in addition to details on the collision weren’t immediately available.
However, in a statement on Facebook, the local school district’s superintendent acknowledged that the accident involved students from the district’s high school.
“Our hearts are broken, and we are grieving with our students and staff,” Tishomingo Public School Superintendent Bobby Waitman wrote.
