Righ-wing strategist Roger Stone called Florida State Gov. Ron DeSantis a piece of s**t as he met with former President Donald Trump over the weekend.
On Saturday, Stone posted a 14-second social media video clip, in which he is walking up to Trump at Mar-a-Lago club resort in Florida, and apparently calling Ron DeSantis, “a piece of [shit].” Stone cut off the video just before the expletive.
“Roger, my man, I didn’t even see you,” the former president says, coming up to give Stone a slight hug. “How can I not see my friend?”
“God bless you,” Stone says in response. Trump then says something inaudible before his friend leans in, gesturing with his hand, as he says, “Ron DeSantis is a piece of s***.” The video then cuts abruptly.
Stone has previously blasted the Sunshine State governor over what he described as “disloyalty” to Trump.
“Governor Ron DeSantis refuses to put his own presidential ambitions on hold until President Donald Trump has decided to whether he wants to run again,” he said in a January video. “I consider that to be an incredible act of disloyalty and ingratitude.”
Stone sent an email to supporters last November saying that he wouldn’t support DeSantis if he chose to run in 2024.
While there have been reports of a feud between Trump and DeSantis, the former president has spoken favorably of his relationship with the governor. Trump in January called rumors of tensions between him and DeSantis “fake news.”
Stone’s obscene language comes days after NY Gov. Kathy Hochul slammed DeSantis on social media for ‘smiling’ while signing the 15-week abortion ban into law in his state.
