A double shooting in West Philadelphia on Friday afternoon left a pregnant woman in critical condition, authorities say.
Philadelphia Police Department officer responded to the 4500 block of Market Street around 11:30 a.m. after multiple people called 911 to report a shooting.
According to police, a 19-year-old pregnant woman was shot in the chest and left side, and a 21-year-old man was struck in the arm.
Both victims were rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where police say the pregnant woman is in critical condition. The man is expected to recover, according to police.
Police did not report any arrests immediately following the shooting, but said they found a weapon at the scene.
