A 39-year-old Pennsylvania raping suspect has been apprehended for allegedly stabbing a female coworker’s children in the head as the teenage boys tried to stop him from raping their mother in Philadelphia.
The suspect, Hengjian Ni, turned himself in hours after the triple stabbing occurred on March 6 on Knorr Street in Philadelphia.
Just after 2 pm local time, cops responded to a 911 call reporting a person wielding a knife, according to a police report.
Upon arriving at the scene, cops discovered a 37-year-old Asian woman with multiple stab wounds throughout her body, the police report said.
The woman’s 15-year-old son, who is the second victim, suffered two stab wounds to the back of his head. The third victim, being the woman’s 10-year-old son, also suffered stab wounds in the back of the head and his left leg.
According to the US Sun, an unidentified neighbor said she helped the victims when one of the young boys, covered in blood, went running down the street.
“She said, ‘Help me. Help me.’ She came struggling down the steps,” the neighbor, who did not want to be named, told NBC10.
“I told her, ‘I called the ambulance. Hold on stay there.’ She was like, ‘My sons. My sons.’ I was like, ‘I have them. I have them. They’re safe.’”
The young boys’ mother is said to be in critical condition at Frankford-Torresdale Hospital. Her two sons were not gravely wounded and are said to be in stable condition at the same hospital.
Ni surrendered to Northeast Detectives at the 15th District headquarters hours after fleeing the scene. He was transported to the hospital and was later identified as the suspect.
He faces multiple charges, including three counts of Simple Assault, three counts of Aggravated Assault, three counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, three counts of Attempted Murder, Attempted Rape, Possessing Instruments of Crime and Burglary.
Ni and the woman were co-workers, according to reports. It wasn’t clear why he tried to rape the woman
