Happy Diwali from Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas!
On Saturday 14, while in London, the couple celebrated one of the most important festivals in India together. “Happy diwali to everyone celebrating. From our family to yours,” Chopra, 38, shared on Instagram, along with a photo of her and her husband Nick Jonas, 28, holding diyas, which are small oil lamps made from clay.
Diwali is a festival of lights mainly celebrated by Hindus. The festival usually lasts five days and celebrated during the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance”.
Chopra Jonas and her husband were not the only ones to celebrate Diwali on social media.
President Trump also celebrated the festival from the White House.
“The First Lady and I wish the millions of people in the United States and around the world observing Diwali a joyous celebration and prosperous new beginnings.” Trump said in a statement.
