A newlywed Virginia couple was found shot dead in their Virginia Beach apartment this week. Alisa Wash and her husband Talon Rodgers, both 23, were fatally shot in their house just a month after their wedding, cops say. Investigators are searching for the groom’s missing brother.
Rodgers and his wife’s bodies were discovered with gunshot wounds inside their Virginia Beach apartment on Monday night, according to authorities.
Investigators called the tragic incident a double homicide, indicating that neither the husband nor the wife appeared to be responsible for the shooting.
Police announced on Wednesday that they were searching for Rodgers’ 20-year-old brother, Collin Rodgers after he was reported missing amid the homicide investigation.
Investigators said they are treating Collin as an “endangered adult” because of the unknown circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
Collin’s parents said they last saw him on March 27, seven days before the double homicide, cops said. It was not immediately clear when Rodgers and his wife were shot, but a neighbor told investigators that she recalled hearing loud sounds on March 30, 13News reported.
According to the outlet, detectives believe Collin was temporarily living with the newlyweds in their apartment before the fatal shooting.
On March 11, Wash posted a wedding photo on her Facebook profile page. She changed her relationship status to married that same day.
They were such good people,” a neighbor told the Virginian-Pilot. “They were always together.”
Authorities have not named any suspects in the couple’s death.
