Min Yoon-gi was born on the 9th of March 1993, and he is popularly known by his stage name “Suga”. He is a South Korean rapper, music producer, and songwriter who gained fame for being a part of the K-Pop boy group BTS. Under the management of Big Hit Entertainment, he achieved massive success with the group in 2013. And by 2016, he released his first solo mixtape titled “Agust D”.
His solo effort proved to be successful, as the re-release peaked at No.3 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart. By 2020, he put out another solo mixtape, which he titled “D-2”. It wasn’t quite as successful as the first, although it still managed to peak at No.11 on the US Billboard 200. It also peaked at No.7 on the UK Albums Chart, and No.2 on Australia’s ARIA Album Chart.
To his credit, Suga has more than 100 songs as a songwriter and producer, according to the Korea Copyright Association.
These songs include “Wine” by Suran, which reached No.2 on the Gaon Music chart. It also won best soul/R&B track of the year at the 2017 Melon Music Awards.
