A 17-year-old male student has become the fourth victim to die from the shooting that took place at Oxford High School in Michigan on Tuesday afternoon.
The boy, Justin Shilling, died on Wednesday around 10.45 am at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office announced on Wednesday.
“We are saddened to announce a fourth victim has died as a result of their injuries. Justin Shilling, a 17-year-old student of Oxford High School, has passed,” the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office sadly wrote on Facebook.
Shilling is the fourth person killed from the horrific shooting. The suspected shooter, a 15-year-old boy, who has not been identified by police, remains in custody at a juvenile detention center.
The three other students who were killed in the shooting on Tuesday include 16-year-old Tate Myre, 14-year-old Hana St Juliana, and 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin.
Before the massacre, the shooter reportedly posted pictures of the handgun he used to open fire on classmates and teachers to social media. His father had purchased the gun four days earlier, according to investigators.
‘He came out with the intent to kill people. He was shooting people at close range often times toward the head or chest,’ Sheriff Michael Bouchard told CNN on Wednesday morning. ‘It’s chilling. It’s just absolutely cold-hearted murderous.’
