The Los Angeles Police Department has announced the apprehension of the man in connection to the fatal shooting of a Taco Bell worker during an argument over a counterfeit $20 bill over the weekend.
LAPD Chief Michel Moore announced the news of the arrest during a Tuesday night vigil for the 41-year-old victim, Alejandro Garcia, who was fatally shot while working with his son at the fast-food restaurant on Saturday night, Mag Grand reported.
As the suspect is being held on a $2 million bond, police were expected to release additional details about the arrest overnight Tuesday.
The fatal shooting happened after Garcia’s son got into an argument with two men who tried to pay with a fake bill after purchasing from the drive-thru, relatives had told KABC.
During the argument, one of the suspects opened fire on the father and his son. Garcia was unfortunately hit once in the torso despite his son’s effort to close the drive-thru window in other to stop the bullets.
Family members said Garcia, who leaves behind three children, worked one night a week at Taco Bell to help earn extra cash for his family.
