Long Island first responders from Suffolk County responded to a 911 call on early Sunday reporting a horse that was trapped in the swimming pool of a residential home’s backyard in Bohemia, according to police.
The 3-year-old black horse named Penny was found stuck in the deep end of an in-ground pool at her owners’ residence. Penny reportedly got entangled in the pool cover.
Responding officers, with great efforts, managed to free Penny and lead her out through the pool’s shallow end. After rescuing Penny, smiling officers posed for a picture with the victim in front of her house in stable condition.
“Penny was so grateful that she took the time to snap a group photo with some of her rescuers,” cops said in a Facebook post.
