Lisa is of Thai decent and the only child of her Thai mother and Swiss step-father. Born as Pranpriya Manoban in Buriram Province, Thailand, she later legally changed her name to Lalisa Manoban.

From a young age, Lisa began showing interest in the South Korean pop industry after completing secondary education at Praphamontree School I and II. Lisa cited K-pop groups Big bang and 2NE1 as her source of inspiration.
Lisa once participated in a singing contest as a school representative for “Top 3 Good Morals of Thailand, hosted by the Moral Promotion Center in early 2009, where she finished as a runner-up.
In 2010, Lisa was the only individual among four thousand applicants to pass a test to join YG Entertainment in Thailand.
