Popularly known as RM, Kim Nam-joon is a South Korean songwriter, rapper, and record producer. He was born on the 12th of September 1994, and is the leader of the famous K-pop group BTS. Initially, he went by the name “Rap Monster”, but later simplified it to RM. He made his debut with the group in 2013, and has since gone on to release singles as a solo artiste.
His first solo release was the mixtape titled “RM”, which he put out in 2015. “Mono” was his second mixtape, and was released in 2018. It became the highest charting album by a Korean soloist, peaking at No.26 on Billboard’s hot 200 Chart. Besides having local success, RM has made a mark across international waters as well. He has recorded songs with world-renowned artistes such as Wale, Gaeko, Younha, MFBTY, Krizz Kaliko, Lil Nas X, and Warren G.
