A Florida father who was found guilty of starving his daughter to death on March 31, 2021, was denied a request to visit his sick mother.
44-year-old Alejandro Aleman requested through his lawyer a chance to go see his mother who is battling terminal colon cancer. Unfortunately, the Judge denied the four-hour emergency furlough request without prejudice.
Aleman was sentenced to 20 years in prison for starving his 13-months-old daughter to death in 2016. He’s currently serving his jail time at the Florida Department of Corrections.

Baby Tayla weighed nine pounds at birth but was found weighing only seven pounds when she died. According to investigators, the baby suffered from a serious diaper rash and a black eye.
Tayla was found dead at her father’s Loxahatchee Acreage home where authorities described as being in “deplorable living conditions.”
Aleman was charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child while his ex-wife, Kristen Meyer, accepted a plea. Meyer is presently serving 23 years in jail with four years credit for time served.
