“I just found out there is another good person to hate on: Chris Pratt.” Marvel star Josh Brolin today has released a statement about his co-star Chris Pratt and defending him at the same time.
Twitter wants to know: Who is the “worst Chris”? The question refers, of course, to the white Hollywood Chrises who star in mostly Marvel superhero blockbusters.
Josh Brolin who portrayed Thanos in the Marvel films wrote on Instagram:
“I just found out there is another good person to hate on. Chris Pratt. I met him years ago as he was taking over an apartment I was renting. He was bigger then, and he was really really kind. Then I worked with him. Again, he was truly kind: a stand up dude, negativity always questioned and positivity and honor was typically at the forefront.”
Josh continue:
“But, as I was looking around to find someone else to hate on during this rising domestic and global hate hand job that we are learning to give, I heard he was available. So Fuck You, Chris Pratt!!! ❤️❤️? (Next victim step forward!!!!!!)”
Earlier this month, Pratt experienced backlash and criticism online for his perceived conservative political views calling him “worst Chris in Hollywood”, though many of his Marvel co-stars including Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo came to his defense.
Politically, Pratt has stated that he does not feel represented by either side of the political spectrum and has expressed a desire to find common ground. Pratt donated over $1,000 to Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign.
