Johnson Endorses Joe Biden & Kamala Harris for President for the first in his life.
As a political independent & centrist, I’ve voted for both parties in the past. In this critical presidential election, I’m endorsing @JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris. Progress takes courage, humanity, empathy, strength, KINDNESS & RESPECT, the 48 year old actor said in a tweet.
According to a video shared by Johnson on Twitter, the actor can be heard saying:
“Happy Sunday everybody, we are approximately five weeks from election day, arguably the most critical election our Country has seen in decades.
Now that said I’m going to be pushing this political conversation just a little bit more. Look I’ve got in all parties but the one thing we can always agree on is the conversation and the dialogue, and where that conversation lands is always the most critical part.
Now this is something I have not done in the past, so I’m going to go big. You guys know me, if I go big, I go big! So I have the opportunity to sit down with vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris to talk about a number of important issues that we are facing as a Country.
I thought it was great and extremely productive conversation that we had and as a registered independent now with centrist ideologist, I do feel that Vice President Biden and Senator Harris are the best choice to lead our Country. And I am endorsing them to become President and Vice President of our United States.”
Though he was previously registered as a Republican, Jonhson voted for Barack Obama in the 2008 and 2012 United States presidential elections. He did not vote in the 2016 U.S. election, and is an independent voter as of 2017. On September 27, 2020, he endorsed Joe Biden for the 2020 United States presidential election.
