Thanks to Jackboy’s driver, the rapper got himself into a little bit of trouble. The man behind the wheels just couldn’t stay in his lane while driving, and this was what caught the attention of the Georgia police in the first place. According to a statement by Monroe County Police, Jackboy was traveling in a blue Lamborghini SUV, when they noticed the driver wasn’t able to maintain his lane.
This prompted the officers to pull the vehicle over to understand what was going on. One of the officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, and that was when he called for back up to carry out a search. Two unregistered firearms were found in the vehicle during the search. A 9mm and a Glock to be precise. It was reported that the guns were stashed in the passenger side glove box, right next to Jackboy’s seat. According to the report, Jackboy played ignorant when asked about the guns. He claims he had no idea there were weapons in the vehicle.
The cop’s attention then switched over to the passenger at the back seat, after the man claimed the guns belonged to him.
At that point, it seemed Jackboy was off the hook, but it didn’t stay that way for long. The police ran his records and found out he was a convicted felon, and this makes it illegal for him to be within arm’s reach of a firearm. As you would expect, the rapper was arrested and booked for “possession of a firearm by a convicted felon”. However, he would be freed the same day, after he posted a $2,500 bond for his release.
This is according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office report. Even though he got some heat for the weapons, he had it easier on the marijuana. This is because the police say they found only a small amount in his car, so they simply let him off with a verbal warning.
