Brazilian supermodel Gisele Caroline Bündchen took to Instagram on Friday morning to share some of the benefits of her favorite herbs and spices which she attributes to her good health.
Food is one of the most powerful tools we have to help boost our immune system. I truly believe in the ancient saying, “Let food be thy medicine,” as I felt a big difference in my life when I started making better food choices.
The 40-year-old supermodel and mom of two wrote:
“When we eat foods that are alive (and not processed), their nutrients and vitamins keep us healthier, and also help our bodies function better. One of my favorite things is bringing home fresh food and herbs from our community garden.”
Gisele described her favorite herbs and spices as follow:
Ginger: help digestion, anti-inflammatory
Parsley: contains antioxidant and promote good health
Rosemary: stimulates immune system, improves digestion
Tumeric: good for heart, anti-inflammatory
Bazil: good for heart, antioxidant, anti-bacterial
Black pepper: helps the absorption of nutrients
Cilantro: lowers blood sugar ( the leaves of the coriander plant, good detoxification
Oregano: antimicrobial, antioxidant
Cinammon: improves circulation
