A Monster energy drink was found by Dog the Bounty Hunter at a new campsite, and internet sleuths vehemently claimed they spotted it in the handbag of Brian Laundrie’s mom. Duane Chapman found the empty can while he and his team of K9s were searching an area deep in the woods of Shell Island, near Fort de Soto Park in Florida, on Wednesday.
Chapman received tips that Brian and his parents visited the campground three days after Petito was declared missing. He found the can while on the hunt for the 23-year-old – who vanished on September 17. However, it is unclear who left the empty can at the site.
There was no sign of rust on the golden can, neither has its color faded. In addition, the text and monster logo on the body of the can are clearly visible. According to photos circulating on social media, some Twitter users claim they spotted the can in Brian Laundrie’s mom’s handbag. However, authorities have not confirmed if the item was in her bag.
Chapman and his team found no conclusive evidence that Brian Laundrie was at the newly found campsite by Wednesday evening. Fox News reports. Chapman previously pledged to find Laundrie before his birthday in November.
Authorities are investigating a potential purchase of a burner phone by Brian Laundrie. According to investigators, Brian purchased the phone the day he went missing. TMZ reports. According to the source, Brian entered an AT&T store near his family home on Sept. 14, the date he was last seen by his family, and purchased a phone.
The FBI is currently in possession of the phone, Laundrie family lawyer Steve Bertolino told Fox News. However, Bertolino declined to say why the family would have purchased a new phone, noting he would not “speculate” on their rationale.
