United Airlines has reportedly banned a Florida man from flying their planes after the man wore a red thong as a face mask while boarding a flight in protest of the federal mask mandate.
The anti-mask man, Adam Jenne, said he was booted off the plane by antics at Fort Lauderdale Airport on Wednesday morning, according to NBC 2. The plane was bound for Washington, DC.
Speaking of the mask requirement aboard planes, Jenne told the outlet that “It’s all nonsense. COVID doesn’t know that we’re at cruising altitude. It’s stupid. The whole thing is theater.”
In addition, Jenne told the news outlet that Wednesday wasn’t his first time of fashioning red panties into a mask aboard a plane.
“Every single flight has been met with different reactions from the flight crew. Some with a wild appreciation, others confrontational.”
Following the incident, a spokesperson for United Airlines congratulated the airline workers who confronted Jenne before the plane took off.
“The customer clearly wasn’t in compliance with the federal mask mandate and we appreciate that our team addressed the issue on the ground prior to takeoff, avoiding any potential disruptions [in] the air,” the United Airlines spokesperson said in a statement to The Post.
Notwithstanding the result on Wednesday, Jenne said he planned to give it another try on Thursday with a different airline. Hopefully, Spirit Airlines has a better sense of humor, he said.
