A Florida man has been arrested and charged after police said he attempted to rape a woman inside a Walmart store in Miami.
The incident occurred on Sunday at around 9:30 pm inside the store on the 3200 block of NW 79th Street, according to police.
The accused rapist, Jarmal Bredan Harvey, 28, of Miami Gardens, approached the victim from behind, raised her dress up, and began to grab her waist.
According to witnesses and the arrest report, the victim turned around to face Harvey but he pushed her to the ground as she was screaming for help. Harvey allegedly ripped the woman’s underwear off while grabbing her.
A video of the incident posted on social media shows other shoppers rushing to the victim’s rescue. The good Samaritans successfully held Harvey until deputies arrived.
Harvey was taken into custody by Miami-Dade police officers. He is currently facing sexual battery charges.
