The Florida High School runner who was sucker-punched in the back of the head by an athlete has declined to press charges against the perpetrator, according to a report.
A crazy video went viral on social media this week which shows an athlete attacking a runner at a high school meet in Florida. According to TMZ’s report, the incident took place at the Tohopekaliga Tiger Invitational in Kissimmee.
According to the outlet, the victim was leading a 3,000-meter race wherein the athlete was involved. However, the athlete was standing on the track as the race was going on. The first-place runner reportedly yelled at the athlete, telling him to move out of the way.
During the next lap, the athlete intentionally got in the runner’s way, leading to the runner pushing him out of the way. That was when the athlete chased the first-place runner and knocked him down with a big punch to the head.
According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the unidentified victim has declined to press charges. The assailant also decided not to press charges over the push that was not captured on camera.
