A 16-year-old girl in Seminole County, Florida, was arrested and charged with manslaughter after she reportedly put a pillow over her sister “to quiet her down,” according to police.
Officers with the Altamonte Springs Police Department responded to a home on Raymond Avenue Friday after the child was found unresponsive in a room, the police department said in a news release Monday.
Authorities said the child was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing. However, the preliminary investigation revealed that the sibling, 16-year-old Charlise Bell, had placed a pillow over her sister to quiet her down. When she returned to the room, her sister was unresponsive. Detectives responded to the scene and after interviews, found probable cause to arrest Charlise Bell on a Manslaughter charge.
