A Florida police officer has been dismissed for soliciting male prostitutes and taking wild photos while on duty, a report said. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office launched a misconduct probe into former officer Joshua Brack in 2021 after a jilted ex-girlfriend reported that the officer routinely ran wild on the job.
Investigators released a report on Monday in which they said Brack violated a raft of departmental rules and was terminated as a result. Brack’s girlfriend exposed him when she called police officers to her home while the two got into a disagreement. The ex-girlfriend took the opportunity to report Brack’s behavior to the responding cops, who then informed their boss.
Investigators later found evidence that Brack solicited male hookers and shot graphic photos of himself while on duty. Brack’s former girlfriend also showed investigators graphic pictures and videos of crime scenes that Brack forwarded to her. The photos include one image of a man who had been decapitated in a car accident.
The disgraced cop also seized drugs from suspected dealers to sell them off for personal gain, officials said. In another instance, Brack declined an emergency call because he was having a personal conversation with an unidentified man.
In an interview, Brack admitted to nearly all of the misconduct and told investigators he was sorry for his behavior. At a certain point during the investigation, Brack was caught on camera making frequent personal stops while on duty.
However, according to the report, Brack’s bad behavior didn’t break the law or merit criminal charges.
