Parents reveal sleazy details of how they helped capture the California mom hosting sex parties for underage children. Shannon O’Connor usually communicates with teenagers via Snapchat, according to parents.
Details are surfacing about how parents helped expose a mother from Silicon Valley area who was accused of hosting wild, drunken sex parties for teenagers in her multi-million dollar California home.
“She’s really good with the phones. She’s a pro with social media,” one of the teen’s mother told Mercury News of Shannon O’Connor. “She tries to put a wedge between the parents and children. She’s a predator.”
The 47-year-old mom currently faces 39 criminal charges, including sexual battery, child endangerment, sexual abuse, and giving alcohol to underage children stemming from parties she allegedly hosted at her home.
The teens’ parents are now revealing details about how they were informed of O’Connor’s behavior, pointing to her use of social media to secretly invite the kids.
One of the unidentified teenagers’ fathers told Mercury News that his son had long known O’Connor’s son and didn’t think much of a Halloween party last Oct. 30 beyond fear over Covid-19. However, the teen’s dad said O’Connor assured him and his wife that it was all going to be outside; they’d be playing ping pong and basketball games.
The boy eventually made it to the party and was later picked up by his parents that night from O’Connor’s house. According to the boy’s father, their son was barefoot, wet, and cold when they found him standing at the end of the $4.7 million French Colonial-style home’s driveway. The family said their son smelled alcohol, vomited, and fell asleep when they took him home.
While the boy was sleeping, his parents said their son’s phone was lighting up with messages. The parents discovered Snapchat messages between various teens and O’Connor, who was running a Snapchat account under the username “Nun,” the boy’s father said.
The boy’s father further explained that O’Connor apparently arranged for the kids to have a wild party at her house with alcohol while she and her husband went out.
“how did it all go,” nun messaged.
“Thank you Shannon!” one boy replied.
The parents also revealed that the messages were related to sex, a girl throwing up, and how their son “drank a lot for his second time” and “handled it like a pro.”
O’Connor would ask the teens questions like “do ur parents knkw” and “Did anyone know I wasn’t there,” before deleting threads of the correspondence, Mercury News reported.
The boy’s parents reportedly confronted O’Connor and her husband after the discoveries. However, the husband hasn’t been charged in the case. At this point, more parents started contacting each other about O’Connor’s behavior.
One girl’s mother said she suddenly started witnessing strange behavior in her daughter, like drinking, falling asleep at a table, and lying. It later became known to the mother that her daughter was dating O’Connor’s son, the outlet reported.
The girl’s mom eventually discovered that O’Connor had been messaging her daughter on Snapchat.
“Shannon was telling her what to do and when and how to lie to me and her dad,” the girl’s mother told Mercury News. “It was just completely insane.”
The daughter eventually opened up to her mom about the wild sex parties at O’Connor’s house that were fueled with alcohol. The girl also told her mother that O’Connor even asked her to recruit other teenage girls.
The girl was sexually abused by other teenage boys at the parties at O’Connor’s commend, prosecutors said. In addition, the girl was told to perform sex acts on the boys while in a drunken state. O’Connor reportedly laughed at the girl when she confronted her about the abuse. The criminal complaint further alleges that O’Connor watched as a teenage boy was beating the girl after she told him to stop cheating on his girlfriend.
The girl’s mother reported O’Connor’s behavior to the police following the findings and began warning other parents about the evil mother.
O’Connor was arrested on Oct. 9, shortly after moving to Idaho, and parents near Boise also detailed disturbing accounts.
In March this year, O’Connor’s son had begun to date a teenage girl in Idaho through the video game Fortnite. The mother of the girl also revealed that her daughter’s relationship with O’Connor’s son was full of oddness. According to the girl’s mom, O’Connor gave her daughter a $200 Tiffany necklace, a dozen roses and sent UberEats deliveries to her house when she mentioned being hungry, per The Los Angeles Daily News.
The mother immediately cut off her daughter’s relationship with the family when she eventually found disturbing messages between the girl and O’Connor.
“We were really all fooled by the ‘cool mom’ thing,” she said. “Looking back … the red flags were there,” the girl’s mother said.
When she first appeared in court last week, O’Connor was denied bail, and the judge ordered her not to contact any of her 15 alleged victims. If convicted, O’Connor will spend more than 20 years in prison and would have to register as a sex offender.
She’s also facing $120,000 fraud charges after being accused of using a credit card that belongs to her employer. O’Connor’s sons have been placed in the custody of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
It is not clear if O’Connor had also videotaped the kids secretly.
