Cops searching for fugitive Brian Laundrie have discovered a fresh used campsite where Brian told his parent he was going on a hike. Searchers have found the recently used camp at the sprawling Florida park, a report said.
According to a CNN report on Wednesday, investigators have revealed they found fresh traces of a campsite at the sprawling 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve in Sarasota. The new revelation came after the Laundrie’s lawyer, Steven Bertolino, announced that Brian’s father, Chris, would be joining the massive search.
The North Port Police Department said they did not request Chris’ assistance. Bertolino, However, was persuaded that authorities wanted the family’s help. Moreover, he suggested it may have been the FBI that made the request.
Bertolino said that Brian’s father, Chris Laundrie, was asked to assist North Port cops searching for his fugitive son, but that police had to postpone.
“Chris Laundrie was asked to assist law enforcement in their search for Brian at the preserve today. Since the preserve has been closed to the public Chris has not been able to look for Brian in the only place Chris and Roberta believe Brian may be. Unfortunately North Port police had to postpone Chris’ involvement but Chris and Roberta are hopeful there will be another opportunity to assist,” Bertolino said in a statement.
Gabby Petito’s parents, during an interview with Dr. Phil, have urged Brian to turn surrender to law enforcement as they believe he is still alive and hiding.
