Two Texas police officers found more than they expected when they went to check on someone sleeping in a parked car.
Fort Worth police released footage of the surprising encounter this week. As cops approached the vehicle, they spotted several firearms and two young men sleeping inside. One of the young men was a suspect in connection to a shooting that occurred at a party in an Airbnb rental in Fort Worth.
Officers saw the car in the parking lot around 11:30 in the night and decided to check it out. That’s when they saw two people sleeping inside. Turns out one of the young men was wanted for murder in Fort Worth.
The officers called for backup and took the pair into custody with no idea that one of them was wanted in a homicide that occurred back in January, according to White Settlement Police Chief Chris Cook.
The two brothers were identified as 17-year-old Colin Williams and 18-year-old Deion Williams.
It turns out Fort Worth police had issued a warrant for the 17-year-old’s arrest in connection with the January 16th murder of 18-year-old Daequon Macon.
Colin Williams was wanted for gunning down Macon at a house party on Glen Abbey Drive in South Fort Worth.
Colin Williams faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly discharge of a firearm. Deion Williams is charged with marijuana possession, unlawful carrying and theft of a firearm.
“I’m also thankful that they complied,” Cooks said. “They came out with their hands up, and they were taken into custody without incident.”
The two brothers are now behind bars at the Tarrant County jail.
