During a meeting this week, a California school board president was caught on the mic swearing after a parent raised concerns over Covid-19 mandates.
Marlys Davidson, the president of the Los Alamitos Unified School District Board of Education, was caught on mic cursing a parent, Lauren Roupoli, during the meeting.
Lauren raised concerns over mandates that require students to wear masks in class. She also questioned the decision to get children vaccinated, arguing her belief that the decision would do children more harm than good.
In addition, Lauren also slammed a member of the school board for criticizing parents as ‘selfish’ raising their concerns at the board meetings.
Lauren hadn’t finished talking before Davidson cut across her and told her that she had run out of time. However, Lauren managed to finish what she was saying anyway.
After concluding her speech, Lauren received a round of applause from other parents for her quote, ‘We are vocal because we are our children’s biggest advocates.’ Davidson was then provoked by the applause and told Lauren ‘f**k you’ through a microphone.
Davidson later apologized for her remark in a statement saying: ‘I reaffirm my commitment to serve our community with dignity and integrity, and I hope they will accept my sincere apology,’ according to KTLA.
Davidson had joined the School District Board in 2018 and have taught students at both elementary and secondary school level for 25 years.
