Authorities in Michigan are looking for an “armed and dangerous” woman who is accused of murdering her boyfriend and her brother on Sunday morning.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has release a photo of the 22-year-old petite double homicide suspect, Ruby Taverner, and warned the public not to approach her, MILive reported.
Officers responded to a call reporting gunshots at an apartment complex in Clarkston around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, cops said.
Upon arrival, responding officers found the bodies of Ruby Taverner’s boyfriend, Ray Muscat, 26, of Independence Township, and her 25-year-old brother, Bishop Taverner, of Oxford. Both had been fatally shot.
According to police, Bishop Taverner was discovered in the parlor with a single gunshot wound while Muscat’s body was found in a rear bedroom.
Investigators said Ruby Taverner and Ray Muscat had lived together, but it was unclear how long they had been in a relationship. Ruby Taverner’s phone and car were found at the scene and investigators believe that she fled on foot.
Investigators described the wanted suspect as a thin, white woman with purple hair. She stands at 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds. Taverner has three registered firearms in her name — including one that was bought last week, investigators said.
Cops are still investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
“Our Fugitive Apprehension Team, other Detectives and assets are actively looking for this homicide suspect who we believe is armed and dangerous,” Oakland Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a statement, MILive reported. “Please contact 911 if you see her or know of her whereabouts.”
