Rapper DaBaby will not be facing any charges after he shot a trespasser on his $2.3 million Charlotte, North Carolina property last month, law enforcement officials said.
On Thursday, authorities in Charlotte released a statement on Facebook, announcing the investigation is “completed and closed.”
“Investigators have consulted with the Iredell County District Attorney’s Office and there will be no criminal charges filed at this time,” the statement concludes.
Last month, police officers responded to the incident that occurred at DaBaby’s home. Upon arrival, responding officers “found one subject suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.”
The 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jonathan Kirk, was home at his sprawling 11,200-square-feet estate on April 14 when a man trespassed at approximately 7:45 p.m.
DaBaby shot the trespasser in the leg after the two exchanged words, TMZ reported at the time.
Authorities said at the time that “an individual suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound” was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
