A Florida bride and a wedding caterer were apprehended after several wedding guests were served food laced with drugs, according to deputies. The victims began feeling sick and high after eating the drug-laced food.
The bride, Danya Glenny, of Seminole County, has been arrested and charged with tampering, culpable negligence, and delivery of marijuana. The wedding caterer, Joycelyn Bryant, is facing the same charges.
On February 19, deputies responded to the wedding venue at the Spring Clubhouse in Longwood after a guest reportedly started feeling weird. The guest told first responders that he felt like he had drugs inside him after he only ate food and drank wine.
First responders then began to treat several people who were complaining of stomach pains and throwing up. A female guest reportedly told investigators that the food was laced with marijuana. Another guest said he began to feel sick and high, and he wanted to press charges against those responsible for lacing his food.
He, along with other victims were transported to South Seminole Hospital for treatment.
Investigators have spoken with Glenny and asked if she had authorized or requested that the food contain marijuana. She reportedly stared at the deputy with a blank expression before answering no. Deputies then tried to locate the catering manager, Bryant, who had already left.
Various samples of glassware and food were collected from the party to be tested, including chocolate-covered strawberries, pudding ‘shot’ desserts, and lasagna.
