A Texas thief disguised as a doctor was fatally shot by the son of an elderly woman when he attempted to force his way into her Houston home on Tuesday morning, according to a report.
The chaotic incident occurred when the elderly woman heard a knock at her door at 12:30 a.m. and saw the stranger wearing scrubs and posing as a medical worker, KHOU11 reported.
However, the woman was not fooled by the robber’s disguise. She immediately called her son for help, the outlet said.
The woman’s son arrived shortly after and found the thief trying to break into the house after his disguise skill failed. He shot the thief dead.
“It was just a random thing,” Houston Police Department Lt. J.P. Horelica told the outlet.
“The home health care that dropped on the original radio was part of a ruse to try to gain entry in the home. When that didn’t work, he tried to force entry in there.”
