The Atlanta Police Department has released a new body camera footage that shows the dramatic moments cops busted a thief who jumped into a woman’s car and drove off with the woman’s young son still inside.
The boy’s mother told investigators that the incident happened in the twinkling of an eye on Monday at the Goodwill on David Abernathy Boulevard.
The mother said she was able to track her 10-year-old son’s cell phone using the “Find My Friends” app. Police officers executed a pit maneuver and brought the suspect, Darius White, into custody.
White is facing three counts of criminal charges including kidnapping, cruelty to children, and theft by taking. He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
