A man’s body part was discovered on a Texas highway, almost fifty miles from where an SUV fatally struck him, authorities said.
Cops responded to a call reporting a human’s leg found by a motorist on the I-10 in Cibolo, just outside San Antonio on March 22, a local outlet reported. Meanwhile, police officers in Boerne, 50 miles northwest of where the body part was found, responded to a deadly crash report earlier that day.
“The leg was turned over to them to see if there was a connection,” Cibolo police spokesman Richard Mireles told the outlet.
Investigators later identified the victim whose body part was found on the highway as 48-year-old truck driver Jeremy McGee.
According to the police report, the victim pulled over on the I-10 and was struck by a passing SUV as soon as he got out of his truck.
The SUV hit him so badly that his ripped leg somehow got lodged in a truck and ended up being carried fifty miles down the interstate before falling out.
The accident remains under investigation with authorities saying they don’t plan to file charges against the SUV driver.
