An East Village bodega was robbed on New Year’s Day by a well-dressed, gun-toting crook; cops said early Monday.
The gentle gunman was wearing a suit jacket and face mask when he terrorized the clerk at Villager Smoke Shop around 9:15 p.m. on East 9th Street near Avenue A, according to authorities.
When he walked in to the shop, the slender gunman initially asked about products available for purchase, police said. After that, he flashed a black and silver gun in his waistband, demanding property from the 21-year-old worker as he threatened to kill him, according to footage from inside the store.

The footage from inside the shop shows the suspect touching the gun as he speaks to the worker at length. He robbed the worker of his personal cellphone and Apple Airpods and stole $700 from the register before fleeing, police said.

He did not injure the employee. Cops are searching for the suspect, who was still on the loose Monday. He is about 6 feet 2 with a thin build and black hair and was last spotted wearing a black face mask, a dark suit jacket, a gray dress vest, a white dress shirt, gray pants, and black shoes.
