A Miami Beach man has killed his restaurant co-worker outside her apartment after his repeated romantic advances were rejected by the lady, according to reports.
Agustin Lucas Mariani, 20, is facing second-degree murder charges for stabbing a 28-year-old Delfina Pan to death. Delfina, who is originally from Argentina, was fatally stabbed for refusing to date Mariani, the Miami Herald reported Friday.
A friend and neighbor of Delfina told the Miami Beach police on Thursday that Mariani “arrived at Delfina’s apartment uninvited on Monday night, and waited for her.”
When Delfina returned from work, Mariani requested to have a word with her inside her apartment, but she refused — prompting an enraged Mariani to stab her to death, authorities say.

After killing the victim, the Miami Herald said that Mariani stabbed himself in the chest, giving himself a non-fatal wound. According to several reports, Mariani was found lying on top of Delfina outside her apartment.
The two were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where Delfina was pronounced dead. Mariani was charged with second-degree murder as he recovered from his self-inflicted wounds, outlets reported.
According to Today in 24, the two have worked at Lincoln Road restaurant, Kansas Bar & Grill, where Mariani mostly kept to himself.
“He worked with us. A super strange boy and nobody knew anything about his life. He went to work and did not say hello to anyone,” Delfina’s friend told the outlet.
Investigators found out that Delfina left work early on Monday, as did Mariani, who was scheduled to work a double shift that day, according to the Miami Herald. Mariani, however, left work in the middle of his shift shortly after Delfina.
Delfina’s close friends told NBC6 that her dream was to become a fashion designer and live with a childhood friend. Delfina’s LinkedIn page shows that she graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in 2016 and subsequently worked as a graphic designer in her home country. She moved to the United States two years ago, friends said.
