An SUV belonging to suspected Michigan high school shooter’s parents has reportedly been found in Detroit late Friday night as local police and the feds continued to hunt for the fugitive couple.
Cops have discovered Jennifer and James Crumbley’s black 2021 Kia Seltos SUV in a residential area of the Motor City, about 50 miles from their Oxford home, sources told Detroit’s WVID.
Jennifer and James disappeared just a couple of hours after they were each slapped with involuntary manslaughter charges in connection with their son Ethan Crumbley’s horrific attack.
The parents, who have been declared wanted by federal agents, withdrew $4,000 from an ATM in Rochester Hills, about 10 to 15 miles from Oxford on Friday, and also switched off their mobile phones, meaning authorities track them, law-enforcement sources told CNN.
Federal agents have put a $10,000 bounty on the fugitive couple’s head as they released “Wanted” posters of the pair on Friday night, warning that the parents could be armed.
Jennifer and James are accused of having purchased a gun for their 15-year-old son four days before the shooting and for failing to take action when alerted to Ethan’s distressing behavior, according to prosecutors. Experts, however, said the charges against the parents were very rare in such a case.
