At least three people died and six others have been wounded following a shooting that occurred at a Michigan high school on Tuesday. The suspected gunman is in police custody.
Authorities responded to reports of an active shooting at Oxford High School at 12:55 p.m, according to local media reports. The shooter was apprehended at the scene, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.
At least four to six people were injured in the shooting and three others died. It is unclear if the victims were shot or suffered other injuries in the ordeal.
Authorities are currently sweeping the school for any additional victims. As of the time of this report, there are (3) deceased at this time with (6) other shot. One of the six was a school teacher. A 15-year-old sophomore student of Oxford High School has been taken into custody and the handgun was recovered. There was no resistance during the arrest and the suspect has asked for a lawyer and has not made any statements as to a motive, according to the sheriff’s office.
‘We are still doing a secondary search of the school for any further victims. All evacuated students will be located at the Meijer store for reunification with parents and relatives,” the sheriff’s office said.

“This afternoon there was an active shooter at Oxford High School,” district officials said in a message to parents. “Oakland County Sheriff’s Department has secured the scene. Oxford High School students and staff are systematically being evacuated to the Meijer Garden Center and may be picked up there. Any students with their own transportation have been allowed to leave. All other district schools are in lockdown for safety purposes and are in no danger.
