Another woman has come forward claiming to be the daughter of legendary late rapper DMX — bringing the total number of the late hip-hop star’s children to 15.
In the past few weeks, the Georgia woman, Raven Barmer-Simmons, spoke with DMX’s other adult children, claiming to be their half-sister, Page Six has exclusively learned. To confirm their paternity, Simmons and the other 14 alleged DMX’s children will all have to undergo a DNA test.
DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, died on the 9th of April 2021 at the age of 50 following a cocaine-induced heart attack. The rapper left a few liquid assets behind with no will.
The number of DMX’s children keeps increasing as the battle over his estate and all future earnings from his music takes a new turn.
Judge Helen Blackwood, on Friday, has subsequently appointed DMX’s three sons Xavier, Tacoma, and Sean Simmons, as the temporary administrators of their late father’s properties. These three sons were born to DMX from his 16-year marriage to Tashera Simmons.
DMX’s fiancée Desiree Lindstrom had also requested in court to be legally declared his common-law wife, the judge, however, shot her down. Lindstrom is the mother of DMX’s 5-year-old son, Exodus.
In addition, Lindstrom had also demanded to be an administrator of her late fiancé’s estate valued at $1 million.
Now, the next big thing is to identify the rightful heirs, said Herbert Nass, the trusts and estates attorney for Xavier, Tacoma, and Sean Simmons. Nass also noted that the estate would require every alleged child of the late rapper to prove paternity through DNA testing. As a result, all the late rappers’ legal children will be entitled to an equal share of his estate.
During his successful career in both music and movies, DMX has sold over 74 million albums. However, he left behind an estate estimated to be in debt.
