A New York woman, 22, traveling in the U.S. in a van with her boyfriend was declared missing on Saturday. She was reported missing after her family was unable to reach her for more than two weeks.
According to the Suffolk County Police Department, the woman who goes by the name Gabrielle Petito last contacted her relatives on Aug. 25. Her last known whereabouts were near Grand Teton National Park in Jackson, Wyo.
Petito and her boyfriend were traveling in a white 2012 Ford Transit van with Florida license plate QFTG03. However, the empty van has been recovered with no idea what happed to Petito and her boyfriend. Police said.
Petito’s disappearance was reported to the SCPD by her mother, Nichole Schmidt of Blue Point, around 6:55 p.m. Saturday.
According to Police description, Petito is a white girl, about five feet five inches tall and 110 pounds. She has blue eyes and blond hair. She has a tattoo on her forearm that reads “let it be.” She also has several tattoos on other parts of her body in addition to the one on her forearm.
The Suffolk County Police Department is asking anyone with information on Petito’s disappearance to anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
