Illinois authorities have apprehended Christopher Anderson, a 30-year-old Wisconsin man who’s been hiding for months after murdering his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, Hannah Miller.
As a suspect in the death of his girlfriend, Anderson was wanted on a first-degree homicide warrant, and police has been on the lookout for him since June. The sheriff’s office claims they were able to track down Anderson thanks to a confidential informant.
Hannah Miller, 26, was found fatally shot on June 30. According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, her body has been dumped along a road-side.
Anderson was apprehended on Tuesday afternoon in Carol Stream, a village in DuPage County, Illinois. A police statement confirms the arrest.
Police will soon proceed with extraditing Anderson to Oneida County.
Sheriff Grady Hartman, in a statement, thanked the community for their assistance in the investigation.
Authorities have categorized Miller’s death as likely a domestic abuse homicide. Prior to committing the crime, Anderson had recently broken up with Miller after several years of relationship.
On June 2, Miller reported that her ex-boyfriend had taken her car wouldn’t give it back. In addition to that, Miller also told the cops that she was afraid Anderson would kill her.
Police arrested a 24-year-old Rhinelander man, Seth Wakefield, who was accused of being in connection to Miller’s death. Police charged Wakefield with first-degree intentional homicide as a party to a crime.
Neither Anderson nor Wakefield has pleaded to the charge against them. Moreover, it was unclear if they had lawyers who could comment on their behalf.
