A number of police officers swarmed a family house after reports of a dead body lying just outside the house got to them. However, the dead body turned out to be a Halloween prop.
Cara Louise, mum of two kids, was left amazed after she got back home from picking her kids in school, to find out that police officers had come to her home.
She revealed that there were about 10 police officers who came to her home located at Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. The police officers were said to have swarm in after three people put a call across to 999 and gave the report of the dead body. She expressed great surprise because she never thought any one would think someone of her body built can kill any person. According to Cara ‘I couldn’t believe my neighbours thought I was capable of murder. I’m only 5ft tall’.
She also expressed some degree of disappointment in her neighbors who couldn’t stand for her and as well thought she could do something like that. In her words, ‘I get out of the car to my neighbour standing there in which I ask jokingly “What have you done?” ‘Then I was told they were all at my house as three people had called in to report a dead body.’
The Halloween prop had been wrapped into a bin bag by the family and kept just behind a wheelie bin close to a nearby garden. For the past seven months, it has not been disposed. However, Cara explained that she had taken the prop out so she could have some space to clear the garden but somehow forgot to dispose the fake body properly.
Her 5 years old son who probably didn’t understand much of what was going on was having a bit of fun out of the whole situation. Cara explained how her son just kept telling the 10 police officers about how much he loves Halloween parties and why the family did not dispose the Halloween prop. Certainly, she and her neighbours couldn’t contain their laughter and even the police officers joined afterwards in the laughter. It was quite fortunate that the police were jovial enough to see the fun side of the story.
However, Cara, still surprised about how she could be a murder suspect, out of curiosity, asked one of the police officers ‘who has legs that short?’ He replied rather interestingly ‘You might have cut them and Cara replied ‘Oh, did you check my bins? The police officers looked at one another and feeling a bit concerned, they asked Cara if they should check the bins.
It all ended at a light note though. The police officers returned to their station after Cara’s innocence was proven. Cara then went on to advise parents to dispose off Halloween props still left hanging within or around their home.
