Biography
Jeon Jung-kook was born on the 1st of September 1997, and he is better known by his stage name JungKook. He is a South Korean singer and songwriter, as well as a member of the famous K-pop group BTS. In 2011, he partook in an audition for the South Korean talent show “Superstar K”. Unfortunately he wasn’t selected, but it gave him the much-needed exposure. It didn’t take long before he began receiving several casting offers, and he finally opted to become a trainee at Big Hit Entertainment.
In 2012, he went to Los Angeles to take part in dance training. And in the same year, he featured in Jo Kwon’s “I’m Da One” music video, where he worked as a back-up dancer.
He had his major debut with BTS in 2013, and has since gone on to attend and graduate from Seoul’s School of Performing Arts in 2017. In 2020, he enrolled at the Global Cyber University, where he currently majors in Broadcasting and Entertainment.

Before he was popularly known as JungKook, he considered many other stage names. These include Seagull, Tattoo, and Ean.
He finally settled on JungKook. It is also worthy to mention that “Seagull”, which is the first stage name he considered using, is the symbol of Busan, his place of origin.

Due to his very busy schedule with his band, he gained admission into high school one year later than his classmates. He graduated at the age of 21 in 2017.
When it was time to take the Suneung (South Korea’s national college exam), he decided to opt out of it so he could concentrate on his music career.
When he graduated from high school, he took his band-mates out to lunch at a Chinese restaurant. This was on his graduation day.

JungKook also plays soccer during his spare time. He watches a lot of soccer too, and is a big supporter of the South Korean national soccer team.
