Louisiana woman who went viral for using Gorilla Glue in place of hairspray, has surgery to remove the adhesive. Tessica Brown is no longer called the Gorilla Glue woman as she doesn’t have the Gorilla Glue in her hair anymore!
Tessica took to her Instagram page on Wednesday to announce that she was on her way to see a Los Angeles surgeon to get the glue removed from her head, since she failed to do it on her own. “Prayer for traveling grace. On my way to LA to get this glue out of my head finally.” Tessica informed her 833,000 followers.
According to several reports, the 40-year-old woman is now recovering from surgery to have the adhesive removed from her scalp. Tessica’s manager exclusively told ET online that the surgery was successful thanks to Dr. Michael Obeng who was able to remove all of the Gorilla Glue out of her hair for free.
“She is currently resting and healing from the ordeal,” her manager tells ET. “As you can imagine, Tessica’s scalp is extremely sensitive right now and will need some time to recover.”
Narrating her ordeal to ET this week, Tessica said she ran out of hairspray and decided to use the glue as she was getting late and was in a hurry while trying to leave her home. She thought she could easily wash it right out. She reportedly used olive, tea tree, coconut and other oils to try to remove the adhesive to no avail. A week later, she decided to seek for help online but never intended to go viral.
“The reason I took this to social media was because I didn’t know what else to do,” she told ET. “I know somebody out there could have told me something. I didn’t think for one second when I got up the next morning it was gonna be everywhere.”
Tessica said she has received at lot of unwanted attentions and jokes with many referring to her as “the Gorilla Glue girl.” And she wishes she never would have posted the video online. Tessica also said she has received a lot of calls, text messages, emails for friends who have showered her with love and support.
“It’s over. Over. Over, I need my hair done before Valentine’s Day” Tessica said in a video shared by TMZ as she scratched her scalp with relief after the procedure.
