Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson follows Donald Trump’s foot step and refuses to concede defeat as former Sexiest Man Alive after Michael B. Jordan was recently crowned as this year’s winner by People Magazine.
People magazine crowned Michael B. Jordan as their 2020′s Sexiest Man Alive on Nov. 17, 2020 at the age of 33.
“It’s a cool feeling,” Jordan told PEOPLE during an interview for the cover story. “You know, everybody always made that joke, like, ‘Mike, this is the one thing you’re probably not going to get.’ But it’s a good club to be a part of.”
Jordan is popularly known for his film roles as shooting victim Oscar Grant in the drama Fruitvale Station, boxer Adonis “Donnie” Creed in the Rocky sequel film Creed, and Erik Killmonger in Black Panther, all three of which were directed by Ryan Coogler.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ who was crowned 2016’s Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine took to Instagram on Saturday to congratulate newcomer, Jordan, as the year 2020 winner.
“Fun talking about “living each day to the fullest” in @people’s SEXIEST MAN ALIVE issue. Congrats to my brother @michaelbjordan on the new sexy crown. I CONCEDE NOTHING,” The Rock jokingly wrote in the caption. The Rock also shared his 2016’s Sexiest man alive cover photo as throwback.
John Legend who was the 2019 winner is now free to enjoy wife Chrissy Teigen’s home cooking as the pressure is off to maintain his “Sexiest Man Alive” title. He jokingly said on Twitter.
“Congratulations to my brother Michael B! And thank you! I can now keep gaining this quarantine weight in peace without the pressure of a title to maintain.”
Other recent winners include Channing Tatum (2012), Adam Levine of Maroon 5 (2013), Chris Hemsworth (2014), David Beckham (2015) and Idris Elba (2018).
Actor Mel Gibson who is now 64, was the first winner in 1985 at the age of 29. As of November 2020, John F. Kennedy Jr., Sean Connery and Patrick Swayze are the only winners who have died.
