Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 73, today, congratulates all the winners and runners-up of the 2020 Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition.
Founded in 1883, the competition aims to encourage expression and creativity through literacy among young people in the Commonwealth. During a writing workshop at Tūranga Library in New Zealand last year, HRH announced ‘Climate Action and the Commonwealth’ as this year’s theme. This year’s Competition attracted nearly 13,000 entries on the theme.
“Amazingly, since the launch, there have been 12,888 entries from young people across the Commonwealth: one of the most successful competitions on record. I am incredibly proud of all of you for overcoming the year’s challenges with your outstanding creativity on this vitally important subject.” The Duchess of Cornwall said in her statement.
