English actress and radio presenter Jameela Jamil is reminding fans while in lockdown not to buy diet and weight lost products from social media influencers because they don’t take those products themselves and they know you’re at home on your phone more than usual.
The 34-year-old actress told her fans that lockdown is not a weight lost opportunity. It’s a moment of survival. That is all. She went on to say that most of these products come with serious life-long health issue and as a result, 24,000 people a year are hospitalized in the United States for taking these products.
Read her statement bellow:
“A reminder while you’re in lockdown, and these diet products are being sold to you thick and fast because they know you’re at home on your phone more than usual. DON’T TAKE THESE PRODUCTS. Most of them are sneaky laxatives. The people who advertise them don’t take them and are either naturally thin or use other methods. I have been asked for 10 years, as a naturally slim person to endorse these things, (and obviously was like “no, fuck off”) and it’s all a scam with serious life long health issues that can occur as a result of taking them. 24,000 people a year are hospitalized in the USA with these products.”
“LOCKDOWN IS NOT A WEIGHT LOSS OPPORTUNITY. It’s a moment of survival. That is all.” Jamil shared on Instagram Wednesday.
